Hip Hip Hooray, We Had a PAW-tay!!!!!
My precious Lucy turned 2, so what was a planner to do? Throw a pawty!
{ Disclaimer: Yes I love my dog. Yes I'm a tad obsessed with my dog, but here's why. I bought Lucy in 2009. Less than a year old, she had a mishap at the puppy sitter's house while my now husband, then boyfriend Brian and I were both out of state for work. She suffered multiple breaks in her front forearm. Had 2 surgeries. When I returned home and saw her for the first time since the accident she had pins in her arm, a cone around her head, and was confined to crate rest for approx 6 weeks. She also had a little pink card and an engagement ring tied to her collar. Her note said "Welcome Home Mommy Dog, Will You Marry My Daddy Dog? Love, Lucy". So yeah, once a co-owned dog now a family pet- she's pretty darn special. }
WARNING: This post will be heavy with photos!
Up first, the pup play station. Not that they can read, but our directional sign pointed the parents into the direction of the dessert table, and designated pawty play area. I tried to think of items that would be fun and interactive for the dogs. We had Yappy Birthday Lucy frisbees, hulla hoops (I thought they could show their agility and jump through them), balls, and chew toys.
Our dessert table had two sides. One side for the humans and one for the furry friends. We had 3 Lucy's at our pawty, and each had a monogrammed "L" pawty hat. My husband had a business trip in California, and had the opportunity to visit Barney's Barkery where he scored the ice cream cone cookies.
For our humans, in addition to treats we had the barbeque grill cranking and offered "Hot Diggity Dogs", "Pawtato Chips", and "Treats".
The dessert table.....
Some dessert table highlights....
(for the furry friends)
Pupcakes, mini Reese cups, cookies, chicken drummettes, peanut butter biscuits.
(for the humans)

Lucy Look-A-Like Cake Ball Cupcake Toppers
Bone & Fire Hydrant Cookies in the Favor Boxes
Now for the really fun stuff!
Cami, Hunter & their bulldog "Daisy".
Ava with my friend Catherine's dog "Sadie".
Whatcha doing under there Lucy?
Our attempt at a group photo with the 3 Lucy's wearing pawty hats, and Sadie because she's too cute...
Time to head over to the patio tables. What's a dog pawty without a fire hydrant? Yep, had to have it!
Who wants a birthday ice cream cone cookie? Lucy does!!!
She liked it so much, she felt she need to hide under the dessert table to eat it....
My beautiful birthday girl!
Lucy's pawty was an absolute blast and I've been contacted by Petropolitan Hotel & Dog Spa to coordinate a "Picnic with Your Pet" for them in April. I didn't hesitate to agree!
